GRESHAM, Ore. (KOIN) — Two wanted suspects are accused of using zip ties and duct tape to bind the hands of two men during an armed robbery and kidnapping over drugs, according to police and prosecutors.

On Monday, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office filed an affidavit seeking a judge’s approval for an arrest warrant for Roy Allen Murray Jr. and Joshua McCann. Each has been charged with multiple counts of robbery, kidnapping and burglary. The warrant was approved and police are searching for both Murray and McCann.Scene of the alleged crime

Police say their investigation started on Saturday, July 11 when they got reports of a robbery at a home in the 700 block of Southeast 170th Drive. Officers talked with one of the alleged victims who told them that the actual robbery and kidnapping took place at an car detailing business called “Devil’s in the Detail,” which is located in the 2200 block of Northwest Birdsdale Avenue.

The three alleged victims were all at the business to work on detailing a vehicle, police say. Two of the men who were detailing the 1975 Caprice told police that they saw a dark colored, four-door car drive slowly past the open garage door, according to court documents. The third person inside the shop with the two men doing the detailing, was a woman, court documents state.

A short time later, a man walked through the shop’s front door with a gun in his hand, police say. The man ordered the three people to get on the ground as he pointed the gun at them, police say.

One of the male victims was hit in the face with the gun handle and was kicked several times, police say. The attacker was wearing a ski mask and had gloves in his back pocket, according to court documents. A couple minutes after the alleged assault, a second man entered the shop. He was also armed with a gun and pointed it at all three of the victims, according to police.

The second guy fired a round and then hit the other male victim on the back of the head with the gun handle, which knocked the man to the ground, according to court documents.

The garage door to the shop was then closed, according to police.

Zip ties and duct tape were used to individually bind the two men’s hands behind their backs, court documents state. The woman who was with the two car employees during the alleged robbery was not tied up, and did not suffer any physical injuries, police say.Court documents: Suspects fight, point guns at one another

The two suspects were “pacing back and forth,” according to court documents.

Eventually, the two suspects took the keys to the vehicle that was being detailed and left, police say.

The three employees waited until they felt the suspects were gone. They then drove together to the residence of the vehicle that was being detailed and told the owner what had happened, court documents state.

Detectives learned that one of the men assaulted sells marijuana and that was likely the motive for the two suspects, court documents claim. Initially, the man didn’t tell officers about the pot connection.

According to court documents, officers learned that Murray appeared angry with McCann for stealing a gold chain, black watch, and a pinky ring. Murray was also agitated that McCann had hit the victims and “apologized to them for the actions” of McCann “and told them he would not allow him to hurt them anymore.”

The duo started getting mad at each other, court documents state. During the alleged robbery and kidnapping, the men started arguing and they both pointed the gun at each other, court documents state.

Detectives were unable to locate a shell casing or a bullet strike inside the detail shop, court documents state.

The owner of the vehicle that was getting detailed, and that was stolen, had a GPS tracker, police say. Officers found the vehicle in a church parking lot at the intersection of Southeast 282nd and Southeast Lusted Road. Police learned that two 12-inch subwoofers, an amplifier, and/or a small air compressor were missing, according to the owner.

Police say they are still looking for Murray and McCann. Warrants have gone out for both individuals.Woman accused of being accomplice

Earlier this week, police arrested Crystal J. Berk. On Tuesday, prosecutors charged her with aggravated theft, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and three counts of hindering prosecution. According to investigators, the subwoofers and other items were placed into Berk’s car in Gresham. McCann told Berk that he needed to get out of town and “lay low,” according to court documents.

Prosecutors allege that Berk provided aid to the suspects, concealed a felon from police and held onto potential evidence of a crime.Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Murray or McCann is asked to call 911.
