PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — He’s suspected in the disappearance of at least 8 women though he’s only been convicted of one. Even after more than 30 years in prison, Warren Forrest retains his silence over the cases.
In 1979 he was convicted of killing Krista Kay Blake, a 19-year-old from Vancouver. Her body was found on Clark County Parks property in a shallow grave, partially disrobed with her hands and feet hogtied.
As Clark County Prosecutors were preparing to bring Forrest to trial for the murder of Krista Blake another set of bones were discovered on May 9, 1978 near Lacamas Lake. A week later they were identified as Gloria Nadine Knutson, who disappeared May 31, 1974. Her sister, Wendy Chase told KOIN 6 News recently that Gloria was at The Red Caboose bar in downtown Vancouver, celebrating her impending graduation from Hudson’s Bay high school the next day. Wendy said Gloria tried to hitchhike home. She was never seen again.
In a statement, Knutson’s sister Wendy Chase said, “Gloria was love, kindness, with a good sense of humor. Witty, smart – beautiful inside and out. She could talk to anyone. Was always there to help, be it human or animal. But most of all she was love.”
He’s suspected in the deaths of Jamie Grissim, Barbara Derry, Carol Valenzuela, Martha Morrison and the assault of a number of different women.
