PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Six people were arrested after a total of 20 were detained early Wednesday as part of a drug investigation launched by the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office.
A month-long investigation focused on drugs and “other criminal activity” that had been seen at a residence in the 400 block of SE 99th Avenue, Lt. Steve Alexander with the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office said.
A stolen motorcycle and a stolen construction cargo trailer were also recovered during the search, the sheriff’s office said. The cargo trailer was returned to its owner.
The six who were arrested were taken in for outstanding warrants and probation violations. They are:
John Abraham Hanson III, 46, and Lawrence Delano Temple, 58, both for probation violations
Anthony Tuafale, 31, Gregory Paul Lund, 50, Antonio Michael Garcia, 50, and Alison Carisa Reinhardt, 39, were arrested on outstanding warrants.
The others initially detained were questioned and released. Because so many people were initially detained, a TriMet bus was called in to hold everyone.
Alexander said these types of investigations are a priority for the sheriff’s office to help keep neighborhoods safe.
“It’s important for the livability of not only the neighborhood, but the community, to be able to eliminate and eradicate those types of drug dealing and illegal activity that is going on,” Alexander said.
He said the SIU team works closely with the Portland Police Bureau’s Neighborhood Response Team (NRT). Alexander encouraged people suspicious of drug activity to contract their local law enforcement agency and be patient.
