PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Police arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly shooting 3 people at a strip club in NE Portland, then firing off several rounds hours later outside an acquaintance’s home.
Eugene Michael Brown was booked into the Multnomah County Inverness Jail after being transported from the Maricopa County, Arizona jail.
The shooting happened around 1:40 a.m. April 25 at the Portland Exotica International Club, 240 NE Columbia Boulevard. Police say 3 men were shot during a fight in the Exotica parking lot. One man was shot in his face, another in his torso and the third victim was shot in the abdomen, police say.
Video from the club shows Brown exiting the building shortly before the shooting and then Brown fled the shooting scene, according to court documents. Someone then gave Brown a ride to a different strip club in the 4500 block of NE 60th.
The acquaintance who received the frantic call went to the NE 60th location where she found Brown around 2:45 a.m., according to court records. Brown and the acquaintance then went back to a residence in the 8700 block of NE Weidler.
Brown was very despondent and had made suicidal comments, police said.
He had “gone over the deep end” in February 2015 after his good friend Quintrell Holliman shot at Gang Enforcement Team officers. Holliman killed himself when approached by the Special Emergency Response Team, according to court documents.
Just before 5 a.m., police were called to the residence on NE Weidler after shots were fired and screaming was heard.. One 911 caller reported hearing 4 gunshots, and court documents said Brown threatened the people inside. When Brown left the home, he fired off several more rounds, police said.
Brown, whom court documents state is a Hoover game member, was indicted by a Multnomah County grand jury on two counts of attempted aggravated murder with a firearm, two counts of attempted murder with a firearm, one count of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, eight counts of unlawful use of a weapon, one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of first-degree burglary with a firearm.
His bail has been set at $1.96 million.
