PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) – Sunday marks the death of a 26-year-old man who was shot in the city’s Arbor Lodge neighborhood in 1994.
Brian Duane Hill was shot in the 6400 block of North Gay Avenue on May 19, 1994. Officers responded to the shooting at 10:13 p.m. Paramedics took Hill to the hospital where he was treated for his injuries. On June 14, 1994, Hill eventually died from the injuries that he sustained in the shooting, police said.
Police learned that someone was seen running from the area of the shooting shortly after the shots had been reported. The person was described, at the time, as an African-American male, in his 20s, about 6’0” tall, with a slender build. He was wearing dark pants and a dark sweatshirt with the hood up, police said. The person was last seen running southbound on North Omaha from North Portland Boulevard where he got into a vehicle.
Today, North Portland Boulevard is now called North Rosa Parks Way.
Police said, the vehicle was described as similar to a 1985 to 1988 four-door Ford Tempo, silver or gray in color, which had three occupants waiting in the vehicle.
