PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) – Two men face charges after allegedly hitting one man in the face with a frying pan and making a second man strip down to his underwear during a robbery.
The incident happened December 10, 2014, court documents show. The victims were in their apartment in the 5100 block of SE 41st Avenue when two men broke in and attacked them.
One victim was “hit in the face, head and back of the neck with a frying pan,” while the second man had a gun pointed at his face and was forced to strip. Court documents revealed, “Both victims believed that they were going to die that day.”
Portland police have not released any additional details about the case.
One suspect, Michael Tremayne Stevens, 25, was arrested by the US Marshal’s Office in Atlanta in March. Stevens and Joshua Damone Owens, 29, were indicted by a grand jury on March 9.
They both face two counts of first-degree robbery with a firearm, four counts of first-degree robbery, two counts of second-degree robbery with a firearm, one count of first-degree assault with a firearm, unlawful use of a firearm and first-degree burglary.
Owens, whose bail is set at $2.31 million, is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at the Multnomah County Justice Center. Stevens remains in custody at the Multnomah County Inverness Jail, and his bail was lowered by Judge Edward J. Jones in April to $750,000.
