NEW YORK (KOIN 6) — The Portland Trail Blazers’ Monday night matchup with the Brooklyn Nets has been canceled due to an impending snow storm, the NBA announced Monday morning.

The Blazers will instead meet the Nets April 6 at 7 p.m. at the Barclays Center. The postponement will mean a brutal stretch of six games in nine days for the Blazers.

The news first trickled out early Monday morning.

Yahoo’s Wojnarowski later correctly speculated that based on Portland’s remaining schedule, the delay would cause the Blazers to have to make a cross-country trip for a single game.

Blizzard conditions are being forecasted in seven states. The storm, being called Winter Storm Juno, is expected to blanket much of the northeastern part of the US beginning Monday night. The storm will likely impact the region — and its nearly 30 million people — for several days.
