Early Detection
Today, when breast cancer is detected early, patients have a 99% five-year relative survival rate when confined to the breast. When diagnosed at later stages, that survival rate drops to 24%. Learn more of the importance of early detection below. More information here
Survivor and Fighter Support
For the past 25 years, Komen has been committed to providing survivors throughout Oregon and SW Washington with the resources they need to feel empowered and take control in their fight against breast cancer. More information here
Research
Komen is the largest not-for-profit, non-governmental funding source of breast cancer research, with $11.8 million dedicated to researchers at Providence Cancer Center and Oregon Health & Science University Knight Cancer Institute. More information here
Advocacy
The fight to end breast cancer continues. Komen works to keep breast cancer as a healthcare priority in Oregon and Washington, having passed laws such as Senate Bill 433. More information here
