PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two teens face assault charges for allegedly using a baseball bat and a broken wooden dowl in a December 30, 2018 attack outside a Northeast Portland apartment building.
Around 2:30 a.m. that morning, Angel Be and Jacosa Hansen were walking and saw an altercation between several teens. They briefly stopped and addressed the teens, then kept walking, documents obtained by KOIN 6 News showed.
One of the walkers, Be, was then hit from behind with a baseball bat by one person and by another person using a broken wooden dowl. A neighbor heard what was happening and took video of the attack.
Hansen tried to stop the attack, but documents show she was “also struck with a weapon.” Hansen told KOIN 6 News all she remembers is walking home from the store and got hit. But she suffered a concussion and multiple other head injuries and doesn’t remember much else.
When police arrived, they found Be on the ground with a bloody face and a head injury. He was taken to Legacy Emmanuel for treatment.

Investigators later found Awasio Epenrosa, 18, and 17-year-old Chas Amumu together in a nearby apartment. Authorities said they were wearing the same clothes as seen in the video and that a bat and broken dowl were found at the apartment.
They denied being involved and said they were assaulted first.
Epenrosa and Amumu were both arrested December 31, 2018 and each faces 2 counts of assault. KOIN 6 News is identifying Amumu since he’s facing a Measure 11 crime.
