GRESHAM, Ore. (KOIN 6) – A loaded gun was found moments after police showed up to investigate reports of a man and woman having sex on the hood of a car, according to court documents.

Joseph Anthony Williams was booked into jail and charged with one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to court documents.

Gresham Police arrested him on Monday around 11 p.m. near the intersection of Southeast 194th and Yamhill. Police responded after getting reports of two people having sex on the hood of a car, according to court documents filed by deputy district attorney Dennis Shen.

When officers showed up, the female was dressed only in a bra. She hopped off the hood and got into the vehicle. Williams, according to police, started walking towards the passenger door. One of the two officers saw a gun at Williams’ feet and yelled out, “gun!” according to Shen.

The .380 Hi-Point had a bullet in the chamber, police said.

Williams told police that the gun belonged to a friend. He also told the officers it was wrong of him to have it. In March 2011, he was convicted of attempted first-degree assault.
