PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — One person was taken to a hospital after an explosion at a housing unit in Dignity Village in Northeast Portland.
The cause is still under investigation but it appears to be related to a propane tank leak.
Neighbors said the man who lives in the damaged home tried to turn on a gas heater when it exploded. They told KOIN 6 News he suffered burns on his leg.
No one else was hurt and no other structures were damaged.
Dignity Village is located at 9401 NE Sunderland Avenue and is a membership-based shelter for about 60 people.
