PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — SWAT teams arrested a suspect in Gresham and another suspect in Clackamas County on Wednesday after a three-month long, gang-enforcement-team shooting investigation.
Ervan Ronell Herring, 44, and Michael Devon Herring, 43, were arrested in Gresham and Clackamas county, respectively.
Both Ervan and Michael were booked into Multnomah County Jail on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, attempted first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and attempted murder.
Law enforcement began its investigation on Feb. 18 when they responded to reports of gunfire in a parking lot near Legacy Emanuel. The investigation eventually led police to the Herrings, who they identified as suspects.
On Wednesday, SWAT teams in Portland and Clackamas County served arrest warrants at the residences where each of the Herrings lived. There, they also found two handguns and an assault style rifle that had been reported stolen out of Springfield.
