Chris Holmstrom is an Emmy award-winning journalist who is excited to be back in the Pacific Northwest. Chris was raised mostly in Phoenix, but moved around a lot as a “military brat.” He has lived in South Dakota, Alabama, Germany and Panama.
Chris joined the KOIN 6 team in September 2013. Before KOIN 6, Chris worked as the Weekend Anchor/Reporter at KOLD in Tucson Arizona 13. While in Arizona he covered a variety of hot button issues, from Arizona’s controversial Immigration bill to the massive wildfire that killed 19 firefighters, including one from West Linn, Oregon. Prior to KOLD, Chris worked at KNDU-TV in Tri-Cities, Washington as the Weekend Anchor/Reporter.
Chris graduated from Northern Arizona University and earned a bachelor of arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in International Communication. While in college, Chris interned for KNAZ in Flagstaff and the Warner Music Group in NYC. He also studied in the Netherlands and says it inspired him to want to explore the world.
In his free time, you can find Chris exploring the great outdoors. He loves taking pictures of beautiful scenery, listening to live music, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
