PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — July 6 marks when Oregon will start issuing out Real IDs — a new identification card with a new set of standards set by the federal government several years ago.

Because you will soon need a Real ID to fly or enter federal buildings, there are many who don’t realize the new card will be essential sooner than later.

David House from the Oregon Department of Transportation joined AM Extra Wednesday to talk about the whole process and address common concerns.
