PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The iconic rock and roll star Mick Jagger celebrated his 75th birthday on Thursday. 

Frontman Mick Jagger, along with guitarists Keith Richards and Brian Jones, bassist Bill Wyman, drummer Charlie Watts and pianist Ian Stewart, formed the Rolling Stones in 1962.

The British band quickly rose to fame and had their first gold record just three years later for “(I Can’t Get) No Satisfaction.”

Ironically, Jagger later said at age 31 “I’d rather be dead than singing ‘Satisfaction’ when I’m 45.” Being 75 years old and having over 2,000 live performances under his belt, he’s definitely sung “Satisfaction” a few times over the years…

It didn’t take long for Jagger to develop his notorious reputation of love for women, partying and eccentric dance moves.

While he’s only been married once (to Bianca Jagger), he has had plenty of girlfriends throughout the years. Jagger has eight kids with five women — the most recent was born in December 2016.

Jagger celebrated his 75th birthday with his kids. His 26-year-old model daughter Georgia May posted a photo to Instagram showing Jagger and his four sons.

Despite the demise of Brian Jones, the band’s fondness of hard drugs and partying, the departure of Bill Wyman and the Mick vs Keith feuds, time has remained on the Rolling Stones’ side.

Not only is the band still together, but they’re doing more or less what they were doing 50 years ago. The Rolling Stones released their latest album “Blue & Lonesome” in 2016 and just concluded their “No Filter” Tour on July 8.

Mick Jagger once said, “Anything worth doing is worth overdoing.”

Maybe that sentiment is one he lived by and why fans are still able to enjoy one of the greatest rock bands to date.
