PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Seeing a peacock roaming the streets in the Portland metro area is pretty rare — especially when said peacock ends up stuck in your truck’s grille guard.
But that was the scenario for one driver.
Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said on Tuesday morning that a deputy stopped to help remove the large bird from the grille of a pickup truck. As the deputy stepped in to help, the animal freed itself and appeared to walk away unscathed.
According to deputies, this incident — which happened on Sunday at the Barton Store — was just another example of how they never know what they’re going to see while on patrol.
It’s unclear how the peacock ended up in the grille guard.
