MILWAUKIE, Ore. (KOIN) — Divers found a body inside a car submerged in the Willamette River near the boat ramp in Milwaukie, police said.
The group “Adventures With Purpose” was shooting a YouTube video at the Jefferson Street Boat Ramp on Tuesday afternoon, the Milwaukie Police Department said. They were filming a dive team recovering a car about 85 feet deep some 400 yards offshore.
Police said once the car was recovered, the group found human remains inside of it and called authorities.
The car is connected to a Portland police missing persons case from 2008 in which a person was reported missing and suicidal, officers said.
The investigation is ongoing. The remains have not yet been identified.
