PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Salem police arrested a 15-year-old suspect after they allege he stabbed a man in the Salem Center Mall Friday afternoon and fled the scene.
According to detectives, the suspect and victim at the mall were “in an altercation,” after which Salem police responded to the second floor just before 12:30 p.m.
Upon their arrival, officers say they found a man with life-threatening injuries, which they believe were caused by a stabbing. The victim was transported to a local hospital, but his condition is currently unknown.
The identity of the suspect will not be released because he is a minor, police say, and they are currently lodged at the Marion County Juvenile Department.
