PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Belmont Goats, Portland’s famous herd, is looking for a new home, once again.
The herd’s stay in the Lents neighborhood is scheduled to end at the end of the month, a couple years after moving there. They still haven’t found a new home, despite their searching efforts. The owners are looking for at least a half acre of land that the goats can call home for the next couple of years.
“This is not just about where do you have 14 goats live,” said Bix Frankonis, a project manager for the Belmont Goats. “It’s about, you may have 8 families visiting at the same time and an accidental walking tour of people. We need to have open space … we know that’s tricky, more and more in Portland because Portland is building.”
