PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A person was rushed to the hospital after a fire tore through an apartment in Southeast Portland early Tuesday morning, fire officials said.

Just before 3:30 a.m., Portland Fire and Rescue was called to the scene at SE Stark Street. Once there, firefighters reportedly found plumes of smoke and flames coming from a unit on the first floor.

PF&R said the blaze damaged nearby apartment units and left seven people displaced.

During the investigation, SE Stark Street will be closed from SE 126th to SE 127th.

Officials did not say what caused the fire.
