PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — We don’t yet have a team — or a stadium, for that matter — but we do have gear.

The Portland Diamond Project opened a retail store in Southwest Portland to hawk hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts and other gear. The group said 100% of the profits will go to support youth development and services in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

The MLB to PDX store at 1919 SW Morrison will open this weekend, with regular hours of Noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

On November 29, the Portland Diamond Project announced they signed an agreement in principle with the Port of Portland to develop the Port’s 45-acre Terminal 2 property for a baseball stadium.

The Northwest Portland location at Terminal 2 at the Port of Portland has the size, freeway access and is ripe for redevelopment. Public transportation currently is spotty, but the Portland Diamond Project officials previously said they would include both housing and commercial properties in any plan.
