PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Nearly 1,400 people woke up in the dark in Southwest Portland Tuesday from an early morning power outage.

Portland General Electric reported 1,394 customers are without power as of 5:35 a.m. The company initially estimated crews would have the power restored by 8 a.m., but at 8:05 a.m. 1,394 customers were still reporting an outage.

However by 3:30 p.m. there were only 6 outages reported affecting 47 customers.

The outage was reportedly caused by an equipment issue just after 2 a.m.
