PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – Tenants at The Yard Apartments in Northwest Portland who say the landlords aren’t doing anything about serious safety and security concerns at the complex marched to the management office in downtown Portland Wednesday morning.
The residents said they’ve been living in fear for years because of strangers sneaking in. Tenants said they’ve been jumped, robbed and assaulted, and delivered a list of a dozen security demands to the officials with Income Property Management.
Among those demands are 24/7 security and fencing.
This is the second time in less than 6 months tenants marched on management. The Yard Apartment complex is owned by Home Forward, Portland’s housing authority.
