PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Hillsboro police identified the man shot and killed by an officer at their West Precinct parking lot earlier this week.

Jason Livengood, 39, was fatally shot by Officer Bobby Voth, police announced Thursday.

Authorities said Livengood and another man pulled into the driveway that leads to the secure parking lot at Southeast Baseline and 10th on Monday evening. Both drivers got out of their vehicles and started arguing.

Livengood was armed with a handgun and refused to drop it, police said. He was shot and died at the scene. It’s unclear if Livengood fired any shots.

The officers and the other driver were not hurt.

Officer Voth is a 2-year veteran of HPD and a 22-year veteran of law enforcement.

Police previously said 2 officers were placed on paid leave.
