VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN) – Homicide detectives are trying to determine if anyone helped four people hide evidence of a murder.

On Monday, Neil Allen Alway, 39, and Ashley Lorraine Barry, 31, appeared in Clark County Superior Court.

Alway is charged with murder, robbery, kidnapping, and burglary. Berry is charged with robbery and kidnapping.

On Thursday, April 27 Raymond Brandon was found dead inside a shed on a property in Brush Prairie. Detectives determined that Raymond had been shot in the shed about a week earlier.

According to court documents, in late April, family members of Brandon called the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and reported that they believed he had been assaulted and likely murdered. The family member identified Alway and Berry as two people having potential involvement in the homicide.

Alway and Berry are reportedly dating and both are homeless, according to court documents.

Detectives spoke with Brandon’s girlfriend and learned that she and Brandon had been dating for about 9 month. She told detectives that she had been going, every morning, to a house on Northeast 172nd Avenue to shower and eat breakfast.

On April 20, Brandon and his girlfriend arrived at the house to shower and eat breakfast. They arrived in a silver Subaru. Shortly after they arrived, Alway, Berry, a second male and his girlfriend came into the room and ordered, at gunpoint, that Brandon and his girlfriend remove their clothes, according to court documents.

Brandon’s girlfriend told detectives that she heard Brandon being beat and yelling. She also heard a gunshot, records show.

After the shooting, Alway and the other man came running back into the house and said everyone needed to quickly leave, according to court documents.

Brandon’s girlfriend had her hands bound by zip-tie, according to court documents.

She was taken to a residence off Northeast 119th that is described in court documents as “The Farm.”

There Brandon’s girlfriend told deputies that Alway made comments about feeding Brandon’s body to two large pigs that lived at “The Farm.”

She was eventually able to escape after she was driven to her family’s neighborhood, according to court documents. Alway reportedly chased after Brandon’s girlfriend but stopped when he saw her father.

When Alway and Barry were arrested, they were found inside a stolen vehicle and Alway was in possession of a black .40 caliber handgun.

Detectives believe Brandon was killed with a .40 caliber handgun, according to court documents.

John Michael West and Ashley L. Wideman were arrested on May 8.

While detectives have not confirmed the role in the homicide investigation, it is believed West and Wideman were the two other people at the house on Northeast 172nd where Brandon’s girlfriend was kidnapped and where he was shot and killed.

West is charged with murder, kidnapping and robbery. Wideman is charged with kidnapping.

Both are scheduled to be in court on Tuesday.
