PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An aspiring architect in Hillsboro recently finished her greatest achievement yet — the 5,923-piece Lego Taj Mahal.

Aj is only 8 years old, but it took her just 13 hours to build the set that is recommended for ages 16 and up.

Aj’s mom, Jhen, told KOIN 6 News she builds them all by herself. She just follows the instructions and goes from there.

The Taj Mahal is one of Lego’s “Creator Expert” sets, along with the Ford Mustang, a roller coaster and carousel.

Aj started building Legos when she was 4 years old and is still passionate about it.

The third grader has also built the Statue of Liberty, Space Needle, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Buckingham Palace and various famous city skylines.

Jhen said her daughter wants to inspire other kids and said maybe if other kids see what she did, they will know it’s all about patience, not being good or bad at things.

The next project she wants to do is the Hogwarts Castle from “Harry Potter,” which has more than 6,000 pieces and is also recommended for ages 16 and up.
