PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — American Airlines apologized to a Gresham woman after a flight attendant kicked her off a plane.

Tiana Fough’s story made national headlines after a other passengers caught the encounter on cellphone video.

Fough says she was kicked off the flight to Portland after a flight attendant asked her to move. She says she didn’t hear him and took her seat. He then came back and told her she had to get off the plane.

Passengers booed as she was removed and have been coming to her defense online.

Fough tells KOIN 6 that she’s thankful for the support she’s received. “It means a lot to me that people take the time to email and comment and spread the word this is really not ok,” she says.

American Airlines issued a statement saying they have been in contact with Fough.
