PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 63-year-old man is accused of sexually abusing a woman who lives in the same apartment building as he does, court records show.

Harry Fox was booked into jail on Monday morning. His bail was set at $1 million, but on Tuesday, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office issued a “no complaint” on the case. That means that the charges were dismissed and Fox will be released from jail. The cause could be presented before a grand jury for consideration at a later date, officials said.

Detectives arrested him on Monday in the 4400 block of Northeast Broadway. Records show he lives at Hollywood East, a 14-story project-based Section 8 apartment building owned by Home Forward.

Fox told court staff he is also employed at the apartment complex as a “resident aid.”

Shelley Marchesi, Director of Public Affairs for Home Forward, said in an e-mail, “It’s our policy not to comment on police investigations or matters that are part of a judicial process.”

Police said the investigation is continuing and could not release any additional information. Fox had been charged with two counts each of first-degree sexual abuse and unlawful sexual penetration.

The case is being handled by the Portland Police Bureau’s Family Services Division.
