PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man was arrested after Portland police said he pulled out a knife in downtown Portland and threatened a woman, using derogatory terms. 

Joshua Castillo, 33, was booked into Multnomah County Jail on charges of menacing, second-degree trespass and second-degree intimidation.

Portland police said the incident, which they termed a hate crime, happened just before 1 p.m. on Southwest 12th Avenue and Southwest Columbia Street. Police eventually arrested Castillo at Southwest Park Avenue and Southwest Main Street. 

Officers said they took Castillo into custody and found a knife.
