BATTLE GROUND, Wash. (KOIN) — A Battle Ground man is accused of molesting an underage relative in the same home where he and his wife operated a day care.
Jeffrey Johnson, 53, was arrested Tuesday and is charged with 2 counts of child molestation.
Johnson has lived at the Battle Ground home with his family for 26 years. The home also houses a day care.
Bonnie Gilbert, a spokesperson for the City of Battle Ground, told KOIN 6 News there is no indication of criminal activity with the participants in the day care facility.
KOIN 6 News checked with the State of Washington and found the day care’s license has been suspended.
Court documents revealed the underage relative came forward and said Johnson touched her inappropriately twice about 2 years ago.
He’s been booked into the Clark County Jail and charges have been sent to the district attorney’s office. Johnson is scheduled to appear in a Clark County court on May 6.
