PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Matt’s BBQ Tacos is the 9th best new restaurant in America, according to Bon Appetit.
On Wednesday, the magazine released their ‘Hot Ten’ list. Last week, they named 50 restaurants on America’s Best New Restaurants 2019 list. Matt’s BBQ appeared on the list in no particular order.
Matt’s BBQ Tacos is on 32nd and Hawthorne and opened in March as an offshoot of Matt’s BBQ, a cart on Mississippi. They serve brisket and pork belly tacos. Tortillas are made fresh in the cart.
Matt Vicedomini moved to Portland five years ago with the dream of opening a cart, he told KOIN 6. It took a year for the cart to gain popularity but it has since become a Portland food cart staple.
