PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A toddler was hit by a car at the Moonshine Park campground in Logsden Monday morning.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said witnesses saw a 2-year-old girl “dart” out into the road as a truck pulling a trailer went by. The driver was going 5 miles per hour or slower and didn’t see the girl.

Witnesses saw the toddler run into the side of the truck and go under the tire. Bystanders got the driver’s attention and prevented him from letting the back tire hit her as well.

The toddler was taken by Life Flight to a Corvallis hospital with a leg injury but is expected to survive.

No criminal charges are expected against the driver.
