PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two southbound lanes have reopened on Interstate 5 following a fatal crash north of Woodburn, according to transportation officials.
The deadly crash occurred about four miles north of Woodburn sometime around 3 p.m. on Monday. No other details about the collision were immediately available.
All southbound lanes of I-5 were initially closed as a result of the crash, leading to heavy traffic delays. Two of the three lanes were reopened by 6 p.m., but the Oregon Department of Transportation warns commuters to still expect long delays due to the backup.
Drivers are being advised to be cautious and take alternative routes or delay their trip by a few hours if possible.
This is a developing story.
