PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A mother of 5 was killed in a car crash involving a farm truck in Polk County on Wednesday.
Oregon State Police said 26-year-old Hannah Parks of Dallas was turning northbound onto Highway 51 from Rogers Road shortly after 6:30 a.m. when her Cadillac Escalade was hit by an oncoming farm truck.
The truck hit the driver’s side of the Cadillac and both vehicles careened off of the highway.
Parks was fatally wounded and pronounced dead at the scene. Three of her children were in the car and sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the farm truck — 36-year-old Armando Trapala-Amador — was not hurt.
Parks’ friends remember her as someone who adored her children.
“Those kids were her world,” said Amanda Johnson. “She’d do everything and anything for them.”
Parks leaves behind 5 kids between the ages of 5 and 10. Johnson said the kids who were in the car with their mom at the time of the crash are shaken up.
“This is tragic for everybody,” said Johnson. “This is hard.”
Parks’ family has setup a GoFundMe to help cover funeral costs.
