LAKE OSWEGO, Ore. (KOIN) — A suspect is in custody after allegedly breaking into a man’s car and stealing a briefcase with a gun in it.

The victim, Dale Campbell, told KOIN 6 News he saw 2 suspects in his red truck in the Home Depot parking lot. He said they had used a screwdriver to open his locked door.

When he sat back in his truck, Campbell realized his briefcase was gone and he saw it with the suspects in the grey truck parked right next to him. 

Along with the gun, the briefcase held Campbell’s computer, checkbook and business documents.

Campbell called 911 to report the theft and started following the grey truck all the way to the Columbia Bank parking lot in Lake Oswego. 

Police also caught up with the grey truck and took the driver into custody. The man has been identified as Dragan Agatonovic of Beaverton. He faces charges of first-degree theft of a firearm, first-degree theft, felon in possession of a firearm, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, criminal mischief and ruminal possession of a forged instrument. 

The passenger got away and ran into a wooded area. He’s blond and wearing a red baseball cap and red sweatshirt. 

Police are also looking into whether items in boxes in the suspect’s truck were stolen as well.
