PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man wanted in connection with an attempted murder was arrested Saturday after a police chase involving Portland and Gresham officers.
Portland police said Dustin Clifford Melbourne’s Dodge Charger was spotted near SE 163rd and Division Street, but when police tried to pull him over, Melbourne sped away.
Police attempted to stop him using spikes strips and a PIT maneuver but he fled.

Bryan Paulsen was working in his auto body shop when he saw police flying after the Charger.
“They tried to PIT maneuver him right up there,” Paulsen said. “Came back this way, he blew by at about 60 something.”
Police said he was speeding and damaged property along the way. At one point he allegedly drove though a fence at North Powellhurst School.
Neighbors believe he got on a bike path near the park that leads through a wooded area into the school grounds, then drove through the gate at the front of the school of of SE 135th.
He allegedly smashed through the gate, leaving a broken chain and car parts behind. Eventually he crashed the truck at 181st and East Burnside.
Police said he ran from the crash site but was arrested in the 18400 block of NE Couch Street.
He faces nearly 2 dozen charges including attempted murder related to a shooting in SE Portland.
