PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 29-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly threatened to hurt people inside a home two different times on Wednesday.
Portland police said officers responded to a home in the 1900 block of Southeast 174th Avenue shortly after 8:30 p.m. where the man was allegedly threatening people.
Officers established a perimeter around the home while also telling the people inside to get out. As the people evacuated, the suspect ran from the residence.
The bureau’s air support unit was able to help officers on the ground with the suspect’s location. He was seen running through a field and jumping over several fences before officers took him into custody without incident.
Based on information learned during their investigation, officers believe the suspect knew the occupants of the residence.
Officers responded to the same home earlier on Wednesday on the report that the suspect had threatened to shoot family members. However, the suspect left the area prior to officers arriving and they weren’t able to find him.
No one was injured during either of Wednesday’s incidents.
After obtaining a search warrant, authorities found a gun in a vehicle associated with the suspect. It was parked outside the residence officers originally responded to.
The suspect was later identified as Davonne Granville. He was lodged at the Multnomah County Jail on a United States Marshals’ hold and a warrant for felon in possession of a firearm. Additional charges are expected.
