PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A 38-year-old Forest Grove resident was arrested Wednesday on 12 charges, including manslaughter related to a November 17 crash in Cornelius.

On that day, a woman visiting from New Jersey died in a 2-car head-on crash along Tualatin Valley Highway that sent another 5 people to the hospital.

Al Hera Islam was a passenger in a Honda Accord hit by a Dodge Challenger Hellcat that crossed the center line near NW 341st. She was 25.

Investigators said a total of 4 people were in the Honda, which briefly caught fire after the crash. The other 3 people — two men and a woman — were rushed to the hospital.

Two people were in the Dodge. Both, a man and a woman, were taken to an area hospital with “serious to critical” injuries.

Now, 3 weeks later, Samuel Castro Muro was charged with 2nd-degree manslaughter, 4 counts of assault, 5 counts of reckless endangering, reckless driving and criminal mischief, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.,

He posted bail and was released. A booking photo of Muro was not available.
