ONTARIO, Ore. (KOIN) – A woman in her 70s was attacked by a man who forced his way into her home, according to police.

Michael Epperson is charged with rape, burglary, sexual abuse, sodomy, robbery, theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The charges are in connection with an incident that happened on Feb. 22, 2018 in eastern Oregon.

According to police, Epperson forced his way into the woman’s home on Southwest 11th Street and attacked her. He then took money from the victim and stole a vehicle.

Ontario Police said in a statement, “Our officers have been working non-stop since this crime occurred to identify a suspect in this case. I am very happy to report that their dedicated efforts resulted in an arrest. We wish to thank the following agencies for their assistance with this investigation; Oregon State Police, Malheur County Sheriff, Malheur County Victims’ Advocates and the Boise Police Department.”

Records show that Epperson has numerous listed addresses in Vale and Ontario.

He is due back in court in early March.

Ontario is about 6 hours east of Portland.
