PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Police are investigating a crash involving a truck that was reported in an armed carjacking in Northeast Portland early Monday morning.

Officials said around 2:55 a.m. a person reported they were carjacked at gunpoint.

During the robbery, the suspect reportedly fired a shot at the victim. Officers arrived to find the victim and his passenger were uninjured, but their truck had been taken. Responding officers immediately put out a vehicle description.

Shortly after the report, an officer saw the truck speeding in the opposite direction of her. Once she turned around, police said bystanders flagged her down as the truck had crashed near NE Sandy Boulevard and NE Killingsworth Street.

Flynt is being detained at the hospital on unrelated warrants and is being investigated by detectives for multiple crimes, including attempted murder, first degree robbery, first degree theft and felon in possession of firearm.
