PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man who was shot on a MAX platform in Gresham Friday morning has died and the suspect remains on the loose, authorities said.

The victim, who has not been identified by police, died after being rushed to a local hospital.

Gresham police were called out just after 5 a.m. to the intersection of East Burnside and 161st Street.

Officials said two men were standing on the MAX westbound platform when one of them allegedly shot the other and ran away.

Police said the suspect is described as a man in his late teens to early 20s. Investigators are still working on what led to the shooting and whether there is any connection between the victim and the suspect.

Multiple MAX lines experienced significant delays as a result of the shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
