PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Police say a U-Haul employee who shot and killed an armed robber was justified in doing so.

The 27-year-old employee will face no criminal charges for the January 3 shooting on SW Powell Blvd. Officials say 53-year-old Robert Porter entered the U-Haul store and demanded money while brandishing a handgun.

The store employee, a valid concealed license holder, fired his handgun, striking Porter multiple times. Another employee called 911.

Both employees cooperated with the investigation. Police say Porter was possibly involved in other robberies in the area.
