PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A teenager was slain in a shooting that spanned about a mile in Southeast Portland Monday afternoon and investigators are looking for both the shooter and any witnesses to the crime.
Abdushukri Uren, 16, died in the shooting around 2:30 p.m., police said, which took place on SE 136th Avenue from Division to Center — a distance of nearly a mile, police said. Uren was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.
Investigators are looking for witnesses and anyone with video along that stretch of road.
Officials said this is the 49th homicide of the year and the 36th homicide involving a gun.
