PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A woman is behind bars after allegedly using a baseball bat in an assault and then ramming 3 patrol cars from pursuing deputies in Clark County early Friday morning.

Around 6:25 a.m., deputies arrived at the scene of the assault and spotted the suspect, Hillary C. Rick. A deputy who knew who she was saw her car and tried to stop her from leaving. But she managed to take off.

The deputy and a Battle Ground police officer pursued the speeding car along SR 503 into Cowlitz County. Authorities said they tried a traffic maneuver to stop her, but Rick allegedly rammed into the deputy’s car and kept going along SR 503.

Other deputies managed to get spike strips laid and tried again to intercept her car. But, authorities said, she ran into 2 more patrol cars before landing in a ditch along SR 503.

Rick, who will turn 31 on Sunday, and her passenger were taken into custody. It’s not clear at this time if the passenger faces any charges.

Rick was taken to the hospital to be checked out before she was booked into the Clark County Jail. She faces “several counts” of assault and attempt to elude.
