PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The four people accused in the murder of a Gresham man were allegedly trying to steal his marijuana, according to the probable cause document obtained by KOIN 6 News.
Alexander David Brodigan, 24, was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head in a car outside North Gresham Elementary School on June 20.
Andrew McMahon, 21, Austin Brown, 20, Tyler Mead, 17, and Amber Wilson, 17, were found at a house about a half-mile from the school.
When authorities arrived, they stopped Brown as he was running from the house. The suspects all eventually came outside and spoke to investigators, each telling his or her version of the night’s events. Investigators learned there was a plan to rob a drug dealer and that the suspects had a gun.
Brown admitted he and McMahon approached Brodigan’s car and tried to take a bag of marijuana he had on his lap. During the struggle, Brown said he fired a single shot, documents said.
Mead also told authorities Brown and McMahon approached the car, while Mead and Wilson waited some distance away.
McMahon told detectives he didn’t know anything about the shooting, but that he and Mead had been playing basketball at the school around 11 p.m.
According to court documents, detectives found a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol in the crawlspace under the house. Wilson told detectives she took the gun from her mother’s house.
Court documents said security video from the school showed the car parking near the dumpsters, two people approaching the driver’s door, then the car backing up and crashing into the building as the two people ran off.
All 4 face charges of 1st-degree murder and 1st-degree robbery. Mead and Wilson are being charged as adults under Oregon’s Measure 11.This story will be updated.
