VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN)– The Vancouver area was shaken by an earthquake Monday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The 2.8-magnitude quake was recorded just before 7 p.m. near Fern Prarie.
The USGS said this earthquake had a depth of 2.8 miles.
The Portland Bureau of Emergency Management has set up Basic Earthquake Emergency Communication Nodes — also known as BEECNs –around the city as a place to go after a major earthquake. People can ask for emergency assistance if phone service is down, or report any injuries or damage.
