PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — South Sister is one of the most climbed glacial mountains in the Pacific Northwest. But climbers usually go up on the south side.
A new glacier that has been there for hundreds of years was found hiding in the shadows on the north side.
Anders Carlson, the president of AOGI, told KOIN 6 News the shadows and rock fall on top of the glacier, making it easy for flyover imaging to miss the glacier.
