PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Twelve new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by the Oregon Health Authority Monday, including 4 more at the Oregon Veterans’ Home in Lebanon.

There are now 14 presumed positive cases connected with the Edward C. Allworth Veterans Home. Of those cases, 12 are veteran residents and one is a spouse. Additionally one employee tested positive and is currently in isolation.

“Though we’d hoped for the best, we always knew we were likely to receive more positive results as our partners at OHA continued testing for the virus. Our staff continue to diligently follow established infectious disease prevention protocols and public health guidelines,” said ODVA Director Kelly Fitzpatrick. “We know they are doing everything in their power to stop the spread of coronavirus and keep our community safe. All possible resources are being made available to support them in their critical work.”

Beyond these cases, 8 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed by the Oregon Health Authority late Monday afternoon in 7 different counties.

There are 2 new cases each in Benton and Deschutes counties, with one new case in Clackamas, Jackson, Marion, Multnomah and Washington.

This brings the total number of cases in Oregon to 51.
