PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A home-intruder was shot and killed early Thursday in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood, according to police.
The investigation started shortly before 1 a.m. when officers were dispatched to the area of Southeast 64th and Harney on reports of a robbery, KOIN 6 News has learned. As officers were headed to the scene, they learned that there had been a shooting.

They found a man, later identified as 30-year-old Anthony Lazarides, dead at the house when they arrived. Police later said the home invasion involved more than one person.
The 45-year-old homeowner who discharged his firearm was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not said how the homeowner was injured.
KOIN 6 News spoke with a neighbor who confirmed that he was questioned about a gun holster and bullet found on his property. He said police questioned him about the potential evidence, and said that neither the hostler nor the bullet belonged to him or his son.
Another neighbor, Connie Dubanski, said detectives told her the shooting was connected to a robbery. Police on scene declined to comment. Dubanski said police told her that the homeowner who discharged his firearm was being questioned by investigators.
“The neighborhood is a mix neighborhood, like most neighborhoods we have good and bad,” Dubanski said.
A third neighbor, who declined to give his last name, said the homeowner who shot the suspect has been the recent victim of crime.
“A few months ago, he had somebody break into his truck and rifle through it,” Josh said.
Detectives continue to speak with witnesses. Anyone who has information on the case, and who has not talked with police, is asked to call 503.823.0400.
