PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Morning commuters will have to deal with an extra day of major-construction traffic.
The Oregon Dept. of Transportation said the I-84 WB to I-5 SB ramp, located near the Lloyd Center, will remain closed until Tuesday, one day later than it was supposed to reopen. ODOT said they found extensive damage to metal rebar below the road, causing the delay.
The same thing happened on the second phase of ODOT’s big-fix project. That delay lasted 18 hours.
ODOT said the delay could be extended depending on the weather.
“We appreciate the public’s patience and understanding during these multi-day closures and apologize for the inconvenience,” ODOT said in a release.
ODOT also said on-ramps to I-84 WB between I-205 and I-5 will remain close duntil the I-5 SB ramp reopens. Those ramps are:
- NE Halsey Street
- NE Sandy Boulevard
- NE 58th and Glisan Street
- NE 33 Avenue
